Safe Computing

We have rash of computers infected with Malware and Virus

This can be greatly reduced by small changes in operating procedures .

Microsoft security essentials ( a free program ) and Malware bytes ( also free ) at present seems to be the best solution and will keep your cp save if used correctly. Microsoft Security Essentials will update daily and will do a complete scan at predefined times. Malware should be run at least once a week and updated prior to running.

E-mail's that have two or more FW: listed should not be opened or forwarded. Attachments should be treated as infected until you can verify integrity .

popup that tell you that you have multi  infections should be deleted immediately. they will offer to clean your system but require you to register and pay ( usually 59.95 ) . normally this can be corrected by doing a system restore to a previous date.

When sending email to multi recipients use one address in the to column and all other address should be placed in the Bcc column. This does not expose the email address to the web
